Unhappy leaking dowel pin question

I just read a thread in the 1st gen section about fixing the leaking upper dowel pin by drilling a small hole and forcing sealer in with compressed air.....see link below

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/engine-interesting-dowel-pin-oil-leak-fix-864358/

i was just wondering if the engine design of the 13b and 12a are close enough that this will work for me to.
my leak is for sure from their i can watch it leak out between rear rotor housing and rear iron.?

just a **** of i just bought the car .. its a 87 TII by the way ,

if any one has any other ideas for a fix let me know, it was already covered with jb weld by last owner

Well, that's quite interesting. Not something I'd ever do on one of my cars though.

12As and 13Bs are essentially the same, with the 13B being wider. They use dowel pins in the same location, and the same o-rings.

Is the leak being caused by an old o-ring or a cracked dowel seat?

Sounds like your rear iron is cracked. That " fix " won't work for that.. You need to replace the rear iron.

would the crack be almost internal then? not visible from the out side.
i see their have been a few with cracked rear irons.

i think i might just try to seal it the best i can then from the out side and drive it for a few weeks before pulling it apart.
