Exclamation leakage??? need help please

alright so i discovered a leak comming from under where the alternator pully is. maybe even a little lower than that. Seems like its comming from maybe the housing down there?? i noticed that it was leaking pretty bad, and that i had no coolant wat so ever in my radiator. maybe thier related?? i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it. other wise im going to have to get it fixed at a local rotary shop... which is gonna cost alot of money... thanks in advanced

Water pump leaking. It's right under the ALT. If you have no coolant that's what I would check!

First off, be clear on wether it's the seal or the pump itself. Fill up on water and start the car, let the engine run while you go check to see what's leaking. If it's leaking around the edge of the pump...replace the gasket. If it looks like it leaking from behind the waterpump pulley...that's the pumps "weep hole" that means it's seals are shot and it needs a rebuild...just buy a new or rebuilt one and turn your old one in for the core charge it should come with a new gasket too. It's easy to take off really the hardest part for me was getting the darn gasket off of the housing... buy a can of gasket remover while your at the parts store.

In the FAQ section they have the link for the FSM, that will show you everything you need, or you can just buy the Haynes book on the car at most auto stores.
