The easiest way to do this s to just take out the fuse. But for those like me that do things the right way all you do is go to shucks and get like 10 feet of wire and a switch. Cut the wires going into the fuse, run the wire to the switch (were-ever you want to mount it), and then run it back to the wire to the fuse. it costs like 5-10 buxs.

To me, lazy eye looks cool. But to hardly anyone else. I've found that if you use the cleaner switch to raise them, and pull the fuse, the best position for them is when the bottom of the headlight itself (the glass) is level with that black bar that goes across the front behind the bumper. This covers nearly half of the headlight, but leaves enough of it to provide decent visibility. I use this when it's bad weather in the daytime. Makes me more visible without having the headlights all the way up.

I know I'm a newbie, but I think the sleepy look is only really good for show cars, and if you want something functional, take out the headlight on the passenger side and run a plastic funnel to your "custom intake" (which you shouldn't need since there are plenty of real kits available) and then you would at least be able to look smart.
ps- keep the trash mouth to yourself-it only makes the rice grow.

obviously if you take a look at my signature, you would see I very much hate rice myself.
although he made a dumbass comment, I'm going to defend atnti-rice
If he was planning on doing some intake plumbing around the headlights, and somehow keeping the headlight raised a little would help air flow in, I can then see how this would be usefull and fit under your list of 'mods'
if you want it just for looks, your a farking moron

Yes that drag is a bitch since we all drive such high demanding courses and competitions where such minimal drag is important.
And further more if he had a CONTROLLING UNIT like requested in night time applications there'd be less drag, and he could just lower the lights all they way down in the day.

well for the most part it is a personal opinion. i think it look good on my probe, but not on my fc. anyways. the SCCA banned the sleepy eye mod from competition for a reason, so i think it must do something for the car. if you like it buy the kit or build one and enjoy it. if you dont, so what. its his car.

half way up with brites on is not a good thing. Look at what your saying from a leaga standpoint. If you rearend someone for any reason at night time with this mod in the way you describe, you will be paying out the nose.
As far as taste, show cars and stuff, its up to each of us to decide what we like. As far as practicable applications, the law decides for us. Modding lights is a bad deal with the law.

I don't mind the sleepy eye look on the FCs,infact,I think it looks good, other than being completely useless. I drove around for a few weeks with my Celica having sleepy eyes and it's more of a novelty than anything. I got mixed reviews from friends and family on how it looked, but it was just as hassle to make them sleepy. You have to manually adjust the headlight motors by hand, but then when you turn your lights on full, they pop up,and then when you turn them off, they go down. What I used to do was turn the lights on,and then wind them down to the sleepy look. They looked cool that way. However,I am not a huge fan of pop up lights and prefer pop up replacement kits. I was going to fabricate my own for my Celica, but since it's for sale, that idea is now scrapped.

There was a kit for sale on ebay a while back for the sleepy eye mod. It was a ****, and I think their intention was that you can adjust how far to open the headlights form inside the car. This seems to be a good idea - cruise around with the headlights sleepy during the day, close them fully whenever you need, open fully at will.
On the other hand, by doing this your headlight is no longer protected from debris, it will get dirtier faster, and earn you "ricer" comments form those who don't like it.

PS- Sorry Mr.Gadget for what I said earlier, it makes me feel like a ricer now that I look back on it! But im still sticking with lazy eye.
