should i be worried about breaking something when running slicks at the drag strip?

i'm particularly concerned with running a sub 1.8 60ft and breaking a motor mount or something.

Engine mounts would be the last thing I'd worry about. I'd be thinking of the gearbox, clutch, uni-joints, diff, axles...

Buy a spare set of axles and take them with you to the track. If you break one, replace it and drive home you pansy.

I've never experienced wheel hop. only 3 things, either Bog, Spin or Hook. mainly spin and hook.

I don't think he'll break anything other than a diff mount at most, but then again, Cartmill does have some rather bad luck.
