large street porting
large street porting
I have found that if I take a rotor and put a side seal with a side seal spring and 2 corner seals with no corner seal springs in a rotor and walk it around the stationary gear on the iron I can scribe a line were the side seal rides. can port just about up to that line just leaving enough room for the tip of the side seal to ride? coz I got the judge ito large street porting template and he said it goes right up to were the side seal ride but I checked with my rotor and it looks like I can go a little ferther.
If its a real Judge ITO template then I would stick to it and pay more attention to making it nice and smooth. His work and ports speak for themselves, no need to try and improve IMHO.

well he said he maid it not go as close to the area were the side seal rides coz people kept porting past the line. I mean I have the seconderies ported and I have seen bigger street ports. I just want these ports as big as posibul and I know im not up to the side seal line yet.
the shape of the port goes hand in hand with the bowl of the port.
You can leave Judge Ito port shape the way it is, but port out the bowl part of the port. Minding that you dont go too far or you will go into the water jackets.
Smoothing and enlarging the bowl gives more volume of air. Some people prefer to think that it also gives more performance compared to just the shape.
