Kyb Agx?
Who has these?
You like them?
Would you recomend them for use with Suspension Tech. "7/8 drop?
They are 4 way adj in front and 8 way adj in rear. I ran across a good deal on them and I just wanted some imput on them. Thanks, Chris

they are good, don't think they last too long on the track with stiffer springs, but great for the street. they go for around $370-$400 brand new for 4, just to compare to your "great deal".

I'm gonna wade into this discussion because I desperatedly need some new shocks. My GTUs is like Luke Skywalker's land speeder: floaty. *grin* Anyways, got some general Q's I'm gonna throw out:
1. Where do you get 'em for $355 for 4?
2. How many adjustments per shock? I've read 5, 8, etc.
3. How do they compare to Tokico Illuminas?
4. Would the Racing Beat springs be a good compliment to the AGX's?
I really like the stock GTUs/Turbo II suspension, not too rough for everyday cruising, but when the road gets twisty, it works fine. I want to get this as well:

Intrax springs are piece of crap. ST springs are only like 20 bucks more
Yes I hate the Eibachs because they are progressive. Car feels mellow with that. It takes all the predictability out of the car.
As for the AAS question, at medium setting. The KYB rides only a little stiffer than the AAS in sport mode. KYB is worth it, eibach progressive is not

i want tokico N/As. ive heard they are stiffer than the highest settin on the illuminas and are not that bad price wise on RB. hey, when are we gonna race chris? n/a vs. turbo, ive got the suspension and youve got the turbo, should be good!

I've got KYB AGX's w ST springs.
They drop the car 1 inch. You may need to get a camber adjuster thingy if that bothers you (noticeable negative camber on the rears, but its not that bad) Ride is MUCH stiffer than stock AAS. Fronts are 4 way adjustable and easily accessed, rears are 8 way adjustable and a little annoying to adjust (gotta get on your back and slide under the gas tank and twist the ****)
AAS is not compatable with this setup. AAS will twist the internal rods about 45 degrees when changing settings on the OEM shocks. AGX's use 360 degrees while sweeping through the settings.
I love my setup regardless though since she is squatting a little looking like she wants to pounce on a honduh.
I reccommend this setup since it is affordable (got mine through tirerack.com) I would reccommend though that you upgrade your sway bars and bushings (might as well do the entire suspension system while you're at it) Have fun tuning them!!

You forgot to add that little tidbit from Scott 89t2 about the AGX shocks not being able to take racing loads. The Mazda Competition suspension packages come with either Koni or Tokico shocks with linear-rate Eibach springs, so you can take that for what it's worth. However, if you are just driving on the street, then you may as well save some money and get the AGX shocks.

Ditto on the Intrax springs comment - had 'em on an N/A - they do suck. The Racing Beat spring is a better product (I've had both).
As for Illuminas wearing out with too stiff of a spring rate - my front spring rate is 375lb. and the rear is 250lb. My shocks have been doing just fine for 3 years so far and I keep the front set on 5. rears set to 4.

hey guys, is there any real difference between the ST springs and the RacingBeat. I have heard they both claim 20% stiffer than stock, and i think they are both linear, so is there any real difference between the two?

on a side note:
I have the ST springs with my Monore shocks and it made the ride around town better, stiffer and eazier to move around in trafic, but the shocks couldn't hadle the rebound of the springs under hard driving. so i would bounce, which made car very hard to drive. So I took them off and have them sitting in a box. I want to get some better shocks with adj rebound before i sell my springs because they have potental. So far eveyone sounds pleased with there setups, we need to some up with some type of test we can do to find out what setup is truely the best.

I don't know what you people are talking about. My friend has Intrax RACE springs on his N/A GXL, and I have Suspension Techniques springs on my GXL, and we're both running stock shocks and the same tires [Yoko A520], and I just can't keep up with my friend in the corners. We switched cars, and damn... I wish I had bought those springs. My friends YZF can barely stick with him when he's going full-out in corners! So why are you people dissing Intrax? I think they make a great spring!
