I'm getting this weird knocking type noise above a certain RPM, but my engine sensors arn't detecting it, but I can hear it. I noticed it when I revved my car in neutral with clutch out when I was coming into my garage. I heard it at around 5500 RPM. It's a pretty loud knock, any ideas as to what this can be?

 

Does the car do anything when it knocks? Stutter, shake, etc?

Nope just a knock, might just be me gettign paranoid. I didn't notice it while driving out in gear, just when I revved in neutral, and it didn't happen every time...

 

Its a rod.. take it to your local piston shop they'll fix'r right up fur ya!

no really though, can you tell where its comming from? have somebody hold it around 5k rpm. And put your head close to the open engine bay, and see if you can determin where its comming from? is it a sharp loud knock, a more dull muffled knock. stuff like that.

how can i tell if i accidentily disconnected my knock.ping sensor wire vs blew a seal or something else
