kinda long. woohooo! got a turbo baby!..but needs some help

so here's the deal. so i picked up my black 88 turboII this weekend from the bay. the nice thing is it has only 104,xxx on the motor. bodywork wise, its gonna be a lot of work, but im SERIOUSLY thinking of getting a NICER shell and swapping everything over when i can dish up enough money. this is my project car. interior-wise not so ok. i think i'll just strip it clean for now and find some new interior later. there is some cemet..yes, cement in the the rear (by the corner passenger, under the carpet and right on the metal frame) which i think might be a little hard to break out. the wiring is all WACKED. the ignition was rewired to the location of the front driver side stock speaker grill. it works but its quite a ghetto setup and has wires chopped and crss-crossing and everywhere. i almost got electrocuted! i will probably change the dash harness since its VERY bad. everything is hacked here and there. i can't tell what is what anymore. the hood's gotta go too. just not my liking so i will try to get a stock hood. its a custom cowl on a stock steel hood. bondo work is cracking and the scoop is only held on by 3 of those tightning screw thingies (don't know what they're called). looked like my hood was gonna fly up and hit the windshield while i was driving it home this saturday. the hood was misalign as well and didn't feel secure either. i tried aligning it but its not going in right. the driver side sticks up. the feul pump gets hot and the car can't be restarted after its been running. should i go with a stock feul pump or any recommendations for an aftermarket. tires were..3 16s and 1 15. i couldn't swap them with the tired i brought in case but there was a lock. i have no idea how to open the lock, let me see if i can get some pictures (later this week since the car was dropped off at my parent's place and me, back to school--by the way, the halloween costume party that i went to was just crazy. hopped from one to the other.

ok, so back to the car. sorry, this is so long but another thing is, when i was driving back, one of my brother drove in front and me and noticed that when ever i stepped on the brakes, my blinkers came on. any ideas what might be causing this.

so when i get more info (after rechecking the car this weekend) i will get some pictures and some more problems to get help with. did i mention it only has 104,xxx on it. turbo spools very smoothly. on yea, any ideas to clean the engine/accompanying parts since its all covered in that white corrode looking stuff.

for the engine cleaning, use CD-2 Cash King has it for $3 a kit. you'll need about 2 kits for the bay and engine.

If you need some wheels and tires to hold you over, I can get you 15s of the steel variety or a set of maxima wheels for REALLY cheap. I work at a wrecking yard so I get first dibs on everything at a huge discount. if you want to see the maxima wheels on an rx-7, [url=http://home.comcast.net/~john.hoyenga/DSC00592.JPG]. tires are $5 apiece for a mismatched set (2 diff pairs) or 50 for a matching set plus shipping.

PM me if you need some wheel help. also, about getting the wheels off, we use an air chisel at work for the ones we don't have keys for.

the costume party I went to last night was craaaazy. a lot to drink ++ a party full of hot girls == Extreme Fun. I went as a shirt ninja .

nice, shirt ninja. my (lady friends) friends got me up in some of their clothes after my original costume didn't work out. i didn't get to drink too much though. i brought like a pack of 30 and i only got one! i think i ended being one of 4 who brought something. over 100 people believe. today's parties should be more crazy but school is still happening on monday.

another thing i forgot to mention is that i believe the feul gauge is broken as well. i drove back from the bay, went through stockton (brother wanted to drop by his girlfriends place) then up to chico. the feul gauge came down from full to the half mark with only 1 hour of driving. i was worried so i got more gas. i was only able to get 3 gallons in, so it wasn't half empty after all. how can i check and correct this problem.

regarding the first post about the feul pump. i noticed that when it didn't start, even after a LONG wait for the feul pump to cool down, just pulling the egi and cranking it a bit, then egi back in, will get it going. i was told about the feul pump getting hot but don't know for sure. is it just flooding a bit and not the feul pump?

doesn't sound like a fuel pump problem to me, sounds like flooding.

yea, overall, im starting to think that will be the cheaper way towards getting a nicer car.

i'll see if i have any luck with the current problems first, at least clean the egine and the bay, then find a straight shell.

yeah get the t2 running correctly before you try and swap it over because you are in for alot of headaches with the swap as it is no less troubleshooting problems that orginally existed in the old car. Ask me how I know
