Kind of a retarded exhaust question.. piping size

Just trying to confirm but.. if you have 2.5 inch piping from the Y pipe back and 3 inch down pipe and mid pipe, thats just as good or better as 3 inch all the way back right?

That is what RB does with their turbo-back setup. 3in DP - 3in SIL - splits off into 2.5in piping all the way to the mufflers.

Apexi's website says that the dual exhaust retains the same high end power as the single, buts adds some better midrange power as well. Marketing gimmick? ...I believe there was a bp red fc with a pikachu in the dash at one time that would argue otherwise
