boosting problem

Well im not sure if this problem has been posted before or not. When ever i try to give it gas to boost up it wont, it is like the fuel wont keep up with the air. All it does it just bog out and when i let off the gas it back fires really bad. I have an 87 turbo model. I have checked all the vacume lines and all the sensors and they all checked out ok. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks
