Just wondering
has anyone put a FC motor in a MG Midget ??? I have heard of the FB motors in them , but never the FC , and links to threads or stores would be a huge help

Seems like years ago I saw an article in Grassroots Motorsports with a rotary in a British car? Reason I remember this is, I had a 79' Triumph Spitfire and the article caught my eye.

i'm sure someone's done it....
the sprite/midget take a rotary fairly well, but if you want to put the engine as low as you can, the exhaust ports are in the frame rail, so you either have do some weird tube frame thing, or raise the engine up.
there is a local guy with a spitfire/FC he used a LOT of FC parts, gauges, steering wheel, full wire harness, etc etc pretty neat car.
the MGB is the really easy rotary swap, i measured one up for a 12A and it looked like it was a bolt in. engine mounts are in the same place, the shifter is the same etc etc.
a Triumph Tr would be pretty simple too, i measured my Tr3 up, and the stock engine is 2" LONGER than a 20B, however tripling the HP, would be SCARY in that car

I think a 20B in a Tr would be probably the single most scary/cool thing ever. Never would be expected, and would make every passenger **** their pants... Might be a good idea to cut a hole in the buckets and place a real bucket under the seat just to make sure to catch any "alien objects".

I've ridden in a rotary powered Midget.
The S4 13B and S3 GSL-SE engine aren't that different... Changes in the ignition system, manifolds, and the mounting plate... Then there aren't many differences between the 12A and the GSL-SE engine...
Shouldn't be that much different than a 1st gen engine in an MG.

all the LBC's (little british cars) use a front mount plate that's similar to what mazda did on the 68-85 rotaries, so its easier to use the 1st gen engine/trans and in the case of the midget, rear end too

and yes, it would be frightening, the car is like 2000lbs with a big iron tractor engine, so you'd be about 300hp/2000lbs WITH DRIVER, in a car with good brakes (its got bigger front rotors than the FC), but bad suspension geometry!
if you did a P port, it would be 450hp... 4.5lbs/hp!
