It's just the ATF burning out of the engine. It'll stop soon enough.

I did the ATF trick about 3 weeks ago. I assume there is not any ATF still in the engine.

Well that puts a new spin on things. Did you change plugs and oil?

Yup. She stumbes at start up sometimes, and will flood periodically. Really I think I only need to get my injectors rebuilt, but I need confrimation.

i just did the exact same thing myself. i bought a car for 300 that didnt run. ATF'd her up, and started up. it ran, but wouldnt idle and smoked like a ****. then i used some injector cleaner from autozone, and then she idled again. it ran great for 2 months or so, then i autox'd her and she smoked like crazy. my oil seals had gone bad. so i tore down the engine, and rebuilt it w/ pretty much all new seals. only cost me about 500 b/c the apex seals were still in tip top shape! anyways, i put the engine back in and the rear rotor flooded w/ water. i pulled it again and the rear plate cracked its lip holding the inner water seal so my engine kept fillin up w/ water. so, i get my parts in wensday, and hopefully that will fix her up. shes been down since november... anyways, rebuilding a rotary engine is not very difficult, and alot of fun!! give it a try, if u dont, pay me, and ill do it, eh?

It dosen't some except at startup. And the exhaust smells like gas at startup, so I am pretty sure it is a combanation of me having a bad 02 sensor, as well as old injectors.

hey

Mine died on me after I just started it... Come to know it flooded when it was already on. So i would re ingeneer your injectors or soak them in degreaser. And get a bosch oxygen sensor at kregan. Thier only 35 bucks. U will have to change your plugs to. Thats like 20 bucks if u havent already. Also try testing your plugs with an ohm meter. Then i think u would be fine. The smoke at start up just might be raw gas from a leaky injector. This would creat carbon build up over time i think. So get them fixed.
