4.778 or 4.875!!! Holy ring gears, Batman! That's some serious reduction! What's your (calculated) top speed with that setup?
Good luck,
Brandon

4.778 gears would give me a 175 mph top speed at 8500 rpm, with my smaller than stock tires.

Check this out, I made it with all of the available gear ratios for n/a FC's. The transmission is S5, the S4 has a different 5th gear. Most of the gear rations have the short pinion and take some fabrication to work on an FC(they use long pinion shafts). The bolt-in rations are 3.9(auto coupe) 4.1(5 speed coupe and auto vert) and 4.3 (GTUs)

My friend has a stock '87 TII and a guy I go to school has a GS-R with a "LS VTEC" engine. The TII is dead even with him in the 1/4 mile, the acura is modded pretty heavily (used to be owned by a local speedshop owner) and the turbo 2 is bone stock. GS-R's are pretty slow.
Anyone even cared to take a look at the numbers ?
Stock TII: 0-100kph 6,5" (or 6,6" cannt decide
) 0-400m 15"
Integra Type-R: 0-100kph 6,7", 0-400m 15"
Sooooooo, if even an ITR can barely keep up with a STOCK TII, how can a Prelude ? ...............guess what ? NOT happening....
Now, a '90-'91 CRX with a B16 or B18 Spec-R, now THATS another story altogether

Did you just not read the part where I said "DEPENDING ON BOOST LEVEL"?!?!?!? Most people NEVER see a 60 hp gain from exhaust/intake. The only reason the hp increase is that big is boost creep. Running 10 PSI on an S4 TII with intake and exhaust will get you 180-185 RWHP, in a car that weighs 2880 lbs(if I remember correctly)
Im expecting 175 RWHP from my car with the new exhaust when I dyno again. That in a 2600 lb car WILL be faster than the above TII if the drivers are the same.

Like you said, most people who have the full exhaust can't control the boost so they will be boosting 100% (and hopefully not blow their oil seal or engine). If they can't control the boost, then they will make the claimed power in a drag race. Don't know how long their engine will last, but I am sure that they will make all that power. You said that they can't control boost. I am just re-iterating your logic and the consequences that they will put at least 200 rwhp.
An you are right about controlling the boost. I can't 100% control it in my modified and ported turbo, but in a drag, I let my boost go all the way cuz I can't control it (like you said). it only helped me thus far.

The one main thing to why you would loose to a vtech honda is efficiency. RX7 make no bottom end, and hondas make lots of it. RX7 make boat loads of top end, but so do honda. And these two types of car are fairly close in weight.
That is why I am happy with my car. Sure when you see a VW bug on the road you probably think that its slow as hell, cause most of them are. But for me, I have never, and I mean NEVER lost to any honda or acura on the street. My Bug weighs 1800 lbs., only makes 140 hp at the flywheel, and turns consistant 14.2's all day long.
You want to beat a Honda:
1) Put you car on a diet.
2) Find your holeshot rpm were your tires are just about to break but dont.
3) " The perfect fix" A 10-15 hp shot on NOS that is only used right at the getgo, and from then on your in your powerband.

i have ridden in a modded integra GS-R and i have ridden in Adams GTU and you know what, his GTU would spank my other friends integra. I guess some of you guys wont be satisfied unless he posts his numbers but i can vouch for him so lay off.....
But as soon as i get my engine finished i am gonna spank him too so...

Capsoval-Uh, V-tech Hondas make little power in the bottom end- you have seen their dyno charts right? And your bugs fat, my '72 Honda is 1300lbs stock-ha! Its motor was tuned for massive low end torque just for the American market! (since they knew we didn't know how to shift) Actually this helped reduce HP from 45Hp on JDM to 36Hp on American.

MY COUSIN HAS A 2000 GS-R AND HE HAS INTAKE EXHAUST AND I HAVE A 91 NA WITH INTAKE AND IM DEAD EVEN UP WITH HIM UP TO ABOUT A 105.. THEN HE GETS ME... THOSE CARS HAVE THEIR POWER ON THE HIGH END... ALL OF THEIR POWER AND BESIDES THEY HAVE A CLOSE RATIO 5 SPD.. ENOUGH SAID.. AS FOR THE PRELUDE VTEC'S.. THEYRE QUICK ESPECIALLY THE 94'S THEY CAN PULL A 14.9 ON A GOOD DAY.. BUT THE NEW ONES DO ABOUT A 15.3 AND THE AUTOMATICS RUN 16'S I THINK HAHA THEYRE SLOW AS HELL..
