Just got a new car!

Hey today my dad surprised me and bought me a 89 RX-7! It looks sooooooo much better than my 88! Hmmmm spoiler, round tailights...
I'll post pics tomorrow cause it's too dark right now

Anyway the car doesn't run really well. It has a jumping idle and accelerate pretty bad.
I think my 88 is faster than it! :O
Like when I stomp on the gas, the RPM raises but the car doesn't accelerate. Oh and I have to take out my foot from the clutch all the way before the car starts to move. I think that's cause the clutch needs to be replaced, is that right?

Also, the exterior is pretty bad. I wondered if I could take pieces from my 88 and put them in the car?
Can these be swapped?

-FTP lenses
-Sunroof
-Turn signal thingies
-Plastic part of the idiot lights
-Headlights motors
-Hatch

Thanks!

you can swap everything on your list but the front turn signals.

Clutch sounds worn out on the new one.

Depending on the model you 88 may be slightly faster.

1. Your clutch is WAY gone, definately gonna need a new one.
2. Sunroof - Yes
3. Turn signal thingies? I think you mean the lenses? if so - yes
4. As far as I know the plastic cover for the idiot lights isn't a problem but the idiot lights themselves are different between the S4 and S5 cars.
5. Headlight motors- Yes I did this to mine, they have slightly differnt connections but it can be done.

and last but not least 6. Hatch - Yes

Whoa, good luck on that one. If it's a Type S be careful, those things are mean.

I didn't think much of them until my first track day in the WRX. A RSX Type S, a MKIV Supra, and my WRX were all running dead even around the track. The RSX really surprised me.

Enjoy!

I was under the impression that the idiot light surround wasn't universal. Series 4 it bends forward, Series 5 it bends back. Hell.... I could be wrong
