Just got my RB alum fw, question about driveability

My RB Aluminum flywheel came in today as part of my project I'm currently working on.

Now my question is, for those of you that daily drive or do a lot of city/street driving with an aluminum flywheel, how bad is it really? I know a lot of people say that the aluminum flywheel is not for street, or is hard to drive, bla bla bla, but I wanted to hear from the people that actually run them, more specifically the RB one.

How bad is it? How long did it take to get used to it? Do you regret it?

Even with a 6puck clutch, I'd say daily driveability is better rather than worse. Sure you lose some torque in the first two gears, but the revs climb so much quicker that it makes up for it. Also, matching revs on a downshift takes a LOT less time now.

Mine is a pain in the ***. I mean its ok. But driving my GTU with a stock flywheel was way better as far as driveability. Just go to give it a little extra gas off the line.

Yah I figured that much. The instructions that came with it said starting from a stop would be harder, oh well. That will just make the break-in period for my rebuild all the more fun, right?

I've had mine in for about two weeks. I stalled it three times in the first two days and since then its already become second nature. The first day I thought " Oh my god what did I do!" but it turned out to be no different than learning a different car. Its actually smoother off the line cause you can feel right where it engages and don't slip it so much. Put 100 miles on it and you'll be happy.

RB alum flywheel

Have absolutely no regrets or issues with the lighter piece. Doesn't impact daily driving really at all. And engine 'winds' faster. All around 10 of of 10 mod.
Just make sure you have a good solid idle - the lighter flywheel can't 'help' the motor as much.

Have had mine for over 100K miles - starting on steep inclines can be real exciting!
