Cool just code pulled and the winning numbers are...

i got 17, 30, and 33.

I looked em up and found that 17 has to do with the feedback system. The malfunction is that the oxygen sensor output remains 0.55v 10 sec. after F/B system operation beginning. #30 relates to a split air solenoid valve. #33 relates to a port air solenoid valve. My question is... how do i go about fixing these problems? Can they be done myself or do I have to take the car to mazda?

any help would be apreciated.
thanks
matt

I had code 17 on my 91 TII. Seemed to be a broken wire in the wire harness. I just ran a new wire for my o2 sensor to the ECU.

Do you have any emissions removed? if you do thats why 30 and 33 are popping up.

He's right. That's the same codes I pulled after my ACV was removed.

Either a faulty O2 sensor or the wiring is broke. The other two are the ACV, check the connectors and make sure it's plugged in.

yes removed emmissions! thanks guys ur genius. So i'll inspect the wiring harness for #17 and if it looks alrite I'll buy a new o2 sensor. ****, i was just driving again and now i got a nice rattle.... problem after problem. I'll be stopped at a light with the clutch in... and it will start rattling (sounds like its comin from rite in the middle of the car) and then ill slowly release the clutch and apply the gas and it will rattle even more. Maybe a throwout our somethin?

Or it could be the heat shields, they rattle a lot.

Yeah, you can look at the harness. But who knows if the wire is broken inside the harness.

Just run a wire to trouble shoot.
