I'm very interested to know how well this works. I'd never buy an HID kit that that eliminates the high-beam (as most H4 kits do), so this would be worth considering.

The other kits (without the hi/lo) can be converted at a later time, just by purchasing the High/Low bulbs and wiring up the light solenoids (built in the bulbs themselves) to your high beam switch, for those of you on a budget or something.

Actually, the ~6K color is just about the optimal color to grow plants.
SW tanks don't want excessive algae so they shift it upwards in color.
10K and 15K bulbs for SW are common, cause 1) it keeps the algae away, 2) it makes the fish more comfortable, as some of the fish are "deep water" species, and 3) it brings out the color better is a lot of the SW fish species.

I run a FW tank, and I use 6.5K CF's just to keep the plants happy.

Anyways, back to the thread...

If you need a filler, I'd be willing to add one more buyer for an H4 hi/lo set - I already run the H4 H6054 housings on my FC.
Cops will bust you for retrofit HID lamps, so I need to to be as "natural" looking as possible...which means 6K for me.

I also have a set of aux lamps that I *think* are H3, and I would guarantee I want an HID set for those things.
I just need to confirm there are H3's in them (PIAA's if it matters).

I just kinda skimmed through this thread, and I never looked at the other thread in the GB section...
You taking PayPal or some other forms of payment?
Do I go ahead and start doing a funds transfer now?
My PayPal account is bone dry right now, so I need to recharge it!

Here is the Group Buy thread with final figures for cost... I will have a page up and link for my webstore for people that are serious, so they can pay the refundable deposit. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...71#post5262271

In addition, there will be additional color temp pictures posted in that thead this weekend.

These kits should fit any car with a removeable bulb, although it looks like with Toyota/Lexus/Xion, and extra relay will be needed (about $5-$6) as they switch negitive for their highbeams.

You should be able to just replace the bulb and make a single additional connection.

So if people have a tight budget, they can order the standard H4 bulb (low beam only) kit ($210) and later upgrade to the H4 Hi/Lo bulb.

How much would the high/low bulb cost seperately?

Installation is very simple.

I am working on the housings... I can get some DOT legal, but not certified (pass the federal regualtions, but have not been submitted to DOT for approval) pretty cheap. Trying to find DOT certified ones, so people don't get any tickets if your state/area is rather tight on that

Here is the housing that I recommend if you need to be DOT legal:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Hella...34649339QQrdZ1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HELLA...34592326QQrdZ1

Or if you don't need to be DOT legal in your area:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/78-79...35364007QQrdZ1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVE...35411198QQrdZ1

I actually use the non DOT legal one on my vert/FC3C for quite a while now with out ever being stopped in CA

Technically, it isn't legal to retofit HID's into any car...regardless of the housings used. However, if aimed corretly you'll likely never run into a problem...

I had a 6K kit in my FC before I sold it with the same Hella off road housings Ice recommends. Cutoff was sharp and glare wasn't a real problem as I never had friends comment about them when I was driving behind them.
