JDM S5 swap

I just finished my putting a JDM S5 engine in my 87 TII. The car starts and runs but will not idal. In order to start I have the have my foot on the gas and once its running it revs really high if I take my foot off the gas the car dies. I am just wondering what could cause this problem. The spark plugs in the car came with the JDM engine and that is the first thing I am going to replace. I used all S5 harnesses on the swap. I dont have the knock sensor plugged in. I have Racing beat turbo back exahust installed. So what could cause this problem?

Thanks
Mike

How is the compression on the car?
Is the timing correct?
When you give it gas can you get it to stay steady at a specific rpm range above idle or when you give it gas it just keeps revving up?

Mine was doing something similar, my throttle cable was sticking shut then it would get stuck open.

well my foot always has to be on the gas for it to stay running. But when I give it more gas it just keeps revving up. I dont have any interior stuff hooked up just ignition and clutch stwich. I pluged the guages in but the tac didn't work. I dont know if this is because they are my old S4 guages or if something diffrent is wrong. Can I check timing if the car doesn't idle? Are there any other ajustments other than the AFM on the JDM S5 engine? A Compression check is the next thing I'm going to check So Ill post that when I know.

Try simply tightening your throttle body cable. It may be set too slack

This happened to me once. Check if your computer is properly grounded.

I pretty much searched and found some threads about setting your timing. (When I had to set mine.) HAILERS posted some GREAT advice in one of them... I cannot find it though.

Try searching for "stabbing CAS" or something...

All series five harnesses:
engine harness from S5
engine and dash harness from S5
body harness (tail lights and fuel pump) from S5

So unless Im missing one thats all harnesses out of an S5. The main engine one came with the JDM engin and I had to lengthen and rerun all the wires to go through the firewall on the passanges side. The other two harnesses I got from one person on the forum.

maybe you have a intake leak, when i bought my jdm engine it didnt come with a BOV, so when i try to turn it on it would turn on but then die immediately, or i can have the AFM unpluged and keep it on by pressing the gas

there was a intake leake for the breaks but i hooked that up and still the same problem. The AFM is plugged in. I dont have the ECU grounded well so im going to try that and see if that fixes the problem.

I think the problem was a vacume leak. I also noticed that the JDM BAC valve is not ajustible is this true for all S5's or just JDMs?

it idles now but I went to take it for a drive it seems to be cutting fuel when I try to boost. I have a Fuel cut defender. Also the alarm system seems to go off randomly when I open the door but none of the door wires are hooked up so how do I deactivate the alarm? and what causes it to go off?
