Red face a little help on teardown

i was wondering if there is anyone here that lives in the New Orleans area that knows anything about a rebuild...i have a 87 rx7 n/a that i ran hot...talked to the previous owner said the car had been rebuilt around 17,000 miles ago...a bought all the gaskets i should need from Mazdatrix...but i'm not sure exactly what i'm doing i have a manual from haynes to help me but thats it...i'm willing to do all the major work(pulling the motor out of the car.stuff like that)i just need someone with knowledge of this car for the technical part...everyone i have talked to told me its not gonna be as easy as just tearing it down an changing gaskets...any help would be nice...
