Jdm motor, 0 compression....
I just bought a jdm motor from a shop and found out yesterday that the rear rotor was not making any compression, 0, the needle didnt even move..... Anyways, they kept telling me that since the engine has been sitting there, that its normal for it to have low compression, until you crank it up, then itll start rising...
Like I understand what they are saying, but You cant really start it with 0 compression in the rear, and even if you do manage to get the first rotor popping, how you gunna get the rear to run?? I left atf in there since 5pm yesterday and then spun it at 4 am and still nothing....
Hes cool though and they gunna give me another engine, but damn I was surprised that that **** was fuked up when it looks so damn new.... All the harness clips are fukin awesome looks liike it came out from mazda like 2 years ago, the turbo had 0 shaft play, nothing at all solid as a rock, all the bolts were in fukin awesome condition, had that nice bronze type of color..
The housings where in good condition, and the apex seals looked like new, which got me thinking why it would have no compression??? hopefully one of yall can answer my question....

ive seen a couple where the goo in the engine solidifies over time, one was a new mana motor. its probable over time it would have freed up and worked, but its also probable the coolant or rotor oil seals would have been bad too

naw I didnt tear it apart, cus it was under warranty... so I just took it back and got a 90 motor.... I really wanted an 88 motor to facilitate installation, but o welll... I guess Ill have to see how I rig **** up.... one thing I forgot was the pressure sensor.... but o well Ill pik that up tommorrow.... I wanna see how this thing starts.. and runs.... havent done a compression test yet, but it sounds pretty good.... the turbo has a lil play, and the connectors arent as nice as the other motor, so you can tell it has a lil bit more miles on it.... but over all Im pretty sure that its gunna be nice... tommorrow I should get the k2rd block off plates and should make connecting **** more easy... only thing that got me worried is the TPS... wanna see how imma get that **** going...
