J Spec Wiring Harness

I have a S5 T2 J SPEC front clip and I am doing an T2 swap into a S4 GXL. Is the wiring harness long enough to reach to the passenger side firewall hole?

Also do I have to use all of the wiring from the S5? Because there is 3 connectors on the engine harness, 2 go to the ECU and one goes to a connector that is in front of the door. Does my S4 have the same connector to hook up to the S5 harness or do I have to use all the wiring that runs behind the dash of the S5 as well to make my car run?

no, it's not, The bitch about buying a jdm front clip is you need to get a left hand drive TII wiring harness and cluster harness. Plus you don't really know the exact mileage. Get an s5 gauge cluster wiring harness and gauges instead. It will make it alot easier than trying to splice the s4 one in.

Get a Aspec harness. Check EBay and the for sale section here.

Also remember you will need to either run premix or swap the front covers out so you can run the mechanical Oil metering pump. The S5 engines have an electronic one which you can't use on a S4.

You also need to think about what injectors your going to use along with BAC and AFM since they have different plugs.

Why do I have to replace the front covers? Can't I just use every thing that came with the front clip on the motor?

It is hard. Especially if your doing a TII conversion as well.

Check out www.rotaryresurrection.com in the tech section Kevin has done a write up for this.

I have done the TII conversion as well as S5 swap.

S4 and S5 OMP's a completely different. S4's are mechanical and use the throttle body to help inject oil proportionally. S5's are run by the ECU and are bigger.

If you run a S5 front cover you will have to run a S5 OMP and ECU. If you use a S5 ECU and go premix then you will throw the car into limp mode.
Turbo oil returns are different as well because of the OMP size.

I am running the engine as a S4.
Meaning
I am using S4 Harness,ECU,AFM,TB/TPS,BAC,Injectors.

Your car is a 86 so you are using low impedance system so you will remove the resistor pack in the car.

You will need everything under the hood to be S5 to make this work.

Then you use the S5 harness and ECU. You will most likley need to do rewiring to the interioir harness to ECU plugs so everything works like normal.

I'm sure some one which has done this way can chime in and mention what has to be modded.

AND I DID DO IT THATS WHY I TOLD HIM TO PM ME.everything under the hood does not need to be changed to s5. he only needs to repin the 3rd connector that goes to the s5 ecu from the dash and jumper two wires from the large tannish brown plug on the engine harness.it is not hard just people don't know wtf to do.

Not everybody is okay with rigging and cut/splicing wires to make their car less reliable (a department turbo rotaries are not blessed in anyway).

He asked a question and if it's done the right way( soldering and heat shrinking) it should be good to go .And rigging? where do you see me saying anything about rigging?
