LOL pop goes the wankle... dude... I've seen JB weld break up. You do know you're putting oil and gas through there right? Well whatever, don't cry when you're replacing rotors and housings though

I'd get some new sleeves personaly. Don't run that engine with them. you won't have any low end, but i would just remove them all together until you can get some ones that haven't been f'ed up. If you want to keep the angle, get pineappole sleeves. But DON'T run that engine with those installed.

As for your auxiliarly port sleeves, I would not trust JBWeld or any similar product inside any engine. That's not what it was designed for. The idea was good, but the execution (both the material and the shape of the ramp) is very poor. If you can't get that stuff out I'd replace the sleeves, and then go buy the Pineapple sleeves to get the same effect minus the risk.

could you just take them to a reputable welding shop then get then to add alot of filler then use a carbide cutter to get the correct "ramp"? i think that would probally be cheaper, but i guess the heat could warp the sleeves, meh just a idea

They'd probably charge the same or more than the coost of the Pineapple sleeves, which would have a better shape than something ground by hand inside the sleeves.

Are you sure that's JB weld and not epoxy or something? I've seen a fair amount of people epoxy their own transitions instead of paying for pineapple ones, though those look a tad sloppy.

god damn people are cheap bastards !
i mean the pineapple sleeves are only 49 bucks + shipping not a whole hell of a lot specialy when it wont hurt your engine
people jsut need to spend the cash on something that important witha really really really small price tag

I've heard of the sleeves coming out and ruining engines too, though, so I wouldn't say the sleeves are completely safe either.

No, you've heard of improperly installed sleeves coming out. Install them properly and they'll be perfectly safe.

^ I'm with him, it's when you install it wrong they come out. I've been running thousands of miles over the past year with mine installed and no problem.

And its not the SLEAVES that come out, I've heard, it's the sleaves move forward and knock the ROD out. :O

I cleaned up this thread because I think it's important. Keep it clean please.

As for your JB Weld, people need to STOP doing stuff like this. At any time, that epoxy can come out and ruin an engine. Not to mention that it looks like a generally very poor job to begin with.

What's the worst part is that an unexpecting innocent can come along and buy a hacked up car like that, and have to spend thousands to put it right...
