its out!

so we started at noonish today with the hope of my 88 t2 motor being out. the bill(sureshot) came at like 1:30ish and we all jumped in. long story short after lots of fluid spills and the langue barrier between my dad and bill(my dad speaks only very little english, lots of spanish) we got the motor and tranny out buy like 5:30. i want to thank bill again and just say he knows what he is talking about. so in the next month or 2 i will have a rebuild kit and do everything in reverse . cool wish me luck
Gabe

where is orange park in FL? Ya, it took my like 2 months to get my motor out, this was doing like 40 minutes here and there for 2 months, the hardest part was making sure I would remember how it all went back in again. Nice.

Then front main pulley bolt, then front cover, then **** under the front cover, then flip back around to the rear iron and take out all the tensions bolts, then pull the iron off, etc.......

.unmount tranny
.remove harness
.remove fuel railing
.remove any excess vacuum tubing (or try to remove most of the system as a whole)
.remove manifolds
.remove oil injection system
.remove flywheel (that's a bitch! good luck. I used a 1000lb impact wrench with a craftsman 2 1/8" socket, lol)
.remove waterpump
.remove oil pan...

It's pretty self-explanatory from there.

Get/download the shop manual! It explains this all step-by-step, and you're gonna need it for specs and measurements during the rebuild.
