I was scared my apex seal was gonan pop out... when i did the rebuild I broke one of the apex seals ( I bought the 3 piece..)Well i dint break it i made teh little triangle part fall off so i used superglue glued back together and put in in the engine... i was wondering if i got past6k what are the chnaces that my engine will screw up? also i used 2 out of 3 side seals from my old engine... I broke 2 of the new ones.. so one side of the rotor has 1 new side seal and 2 used ones out of spec.

Man, I think you're definately good to go. I started taking mine up to 5k at 600 miles, 6k at 700miles, and redline by 800. No problems yet and I'm at 2k right now.

break in is mostly for longevity.

How did you break the seals? Those things are hard!

Man I would have gotten a new apex seal at least and new side seals if they were needed. With 2000 miles on a new rebuild I would hope for closer to 110 on all even bounces.

As far as I remember when Ken and Ron Slabach came to the Pensacola Meet last month.... he had a engine torn apart and showed us the enterals of the engine....

he also had apex seals with him. One part was the seal, the other part was the small "triangle" portion you're referring too.

I thought it is suppose to be separated - afaik - until you put in in the rotor, and it'll come together.. or something like that. I know what I'm talknig about. I could show you better inperson, just don't know how to type it out.

the triangle is suppose to come off. It's just held on with glue.

I had to re-glue my 2pc numerous times (pain in the ***)

Apex seals aren't easy to break.

Yep. That's not so uncommon of a thing to do during a build. Sometimes new apex seals are sold not glued together. If done right, it assists in the rebuild process and helps make things smoother. They break apart nearly instantly of heating up once the engine has started.
