interior remodeling

Im planning on changing the color of my dash bezels and the plastics around the shifter and etc. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how this would best be done. I was told by one person that there is a company that sells a plastic coating that you install with a hot air gun and it looks just as good as paint, but they couldnt remember the name of the manufacturer, and they dont know where to buy it. I would opt for that method since it is removeable, but im probably going to end up painting it. So i'm wondering whats the best way to prep the peices since it has a course texture. Then the next question would be is there any specific paint that works the best for painting interior peices?

Please don't rice it up with paint and such. IE: no white, red, blue, etc. ok? Please keep it clean, try to go with aluminum or carbon fiber. Not the rice way.

Well actually all the plastics and the dash in the car are already dark blue from the factory. I was planning on making all the bezels and plastics black, cuz thats the way the interior of my thunderbird came stock, and it looks a bit better having a slight bit of contrast, than just having one solid color throughout. Maybe i shouldve clarified that in the beginning, but im not into having an interior that screams at ya. Im trying to make it look at bit classier like my T-Bird, so any help would still be appreciated.

What kind of paint (brand and type) do you recommend for repainting the center console arm rest? I repainted it flat black again with BBQ flat black paint thinking it would not come off on my arm but alas, it does get sticky and rub off on my arm.

What to do?

Just go to Auto-Zone and buy some "Dupli-Color" interior dye. It works great, I just did my center console and it's never rubbing off!
