are the speakers amplified individually

i know this is kinda a stupid question
but i wanna know what probs i would run into puttin a cd player in
what is the wattage of those little amps
if those circutboards and transformers are infact amps

 

if you add an aftermarket deck, you need to bypass the stock amps. easiest way is to just run new wires from the deck to the speakers.

 

does that haynes manual say? if not...someone on here is sure to respond with the correct answer

The manual says that they have a woofer amplifyer for each door. and their located under the dash.

is the door considered the speaker under the dash...by the door

The door speaker is the speaker in the door. I beleive that the s4's didnt come with door speakers, so I do not know if it has the amp.

Man, three people answered and you smacked them all. Granted half the replies were wrong, but geeez. Great way to get further help.

Anyway, the GXL has Amps for every speaker. They are at the speaker or in the dash (depending on the speaker).

As mentioned by scott (and it looks like you ignored his reply) you will need to wire past the amps if adding any aftermarket stereo with the exception of the biggest pieces of crap aftermarket stereos.

The stock amps either take low level (din cables) or less than 15 watts high level input.

 

Woofer amps drive the door speakers.

the dash speakers are seperate from the door speakers, hence the different names.

you dont need to bypass ****. i still have all those amps in my GXL, and the deck is running through them, sounds just fine. my deck is pretty expensive too.

 

actually, S4 doesnt have door speakers, but you can get S5 door panels and insert them in. That's what I did.

 

..my 88 does, but it is a vert.
