Interior paint question

Hello, I'm trying to paint an interior piece to match my black interior for my 90 GTU. It is the plastic surround that goes behind the inner driver's side door handle. I'll try to get a picture up. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the color is called for the stock black interior or a color that would match. Also any tips on painting would be appreciated. Do I need clearcoat... should I sand it first... etc. Thanks.

Edit: I'm painting a maroon replacement piece, because as you can see in the picture the original is cracked.

Well, it's cracked and chipped. I already have the replacement I just want to know how to make it match.

just get some 'no gloss' spraypaint, and do a bunch of light coats. This will match the interior nicely. Good luck

If the painting doesn't turn out decently and you have one I'll have to take you up on that offer

You could always take the black piece to a local hardware store, those old guys that hang out there seem to be able to make anything match, paint wise Or a model shop might be helpful there too?

I dunno
