Upgrade?

I went to slotted rotors-and hawk pads. Just because the slotted rotors (which they cut on per order basis) were cheaper than the oem rotors. They came from SP Performance. I noticed a definate upgrade in braking-however I am eating through pads at a faster rate (which is normal). I would highly recommend them. Might try different pads next time though for kicks.

If you buy rotors from Mazda then it's expensive, but there's much, much, much cheaper options. You can get 4 rotors from NAPA for under $100. Most of the fancy drilled, slotted or name brand ones cost that much each.

iceblue: You state that the fluid's not going anywhere, then why is it empty? If it boils then it does so in the caliper and doesn't go anywhere, it's sealed. It can't loose volume, it'll just go back into the liquid state if you compress it enough, so that doesn't explain the loss of fluid. The bubbles stay in the calipers (fade doesn't go away on it's own, you have to bleed the brakes), so it's not that they're migrating to the MC and escaping. The MC reservoir's probably going to melt before the fluid in the MC boils, so that's not it either (besides the heat's not going to migrate up that far). So then where's it going? It's got to be spilling out from a bad seal on the cap or there's a leak maybe. Fade doesn't cause an empty MC.
