hmm i would flush the thing with gasoline a few times, then let it dry out for a couple days

since gas evaporates and is posta go in the engine anyway. wouldnt think it would harm anything

yeah pretty much pour in 1 end let it run out the other, or u can wrap somthing over one end and fill it shake it around a bit, then drain it out,

to answer how much, ....how ever much till you feel like you have cleaned it out adiquetly... run like a gallon threw it?? iono....

just remember be careful while handling gas!!!!

I think carb cleaner should suffice also. I use that stuff to clean out my intake manifolds. "2+2" works excellent.

Yea carb cleaner for sure. You can always dump it into a vat of simple green overnight as well.

i would take it to the gas station and cram one end of the nozzle on the intercooler and pump away untill the gas is no longer discolored and free of particles

if i leave it over night in simple green, what do i do after that run a hose through it or just let it dry?

and how would i know if its clean of particles?

the last thing that you need to worry about is how the cleaner will affect the engine, becuase it won't. You could have that intercooler filled with water, attach it, and after a couple minutes of cranking the engine would fire right up.

Water, or anything else for that matter in the intake, will go right through an engine most of the time.

The one time I did it, I took the IC, a funnel, & a gas can to the gas station.
I pumped the gas through the IC & funnelled it into the can for the lawn mower.

depends

if your turbo is puking a little oil into the charged air (can be determined by taking off 1st I/C pipe) then it certainly doesn't hurt however I wouldn't say that this is necessary maintenance whatsoever

And also don't expect that pounring gas through your stock I/C is going to improve your performance by any measurable (be it butt dyno or otherwise) degree

I just taped up one end of my intercooler and then sloshed gas around inside it.

Now the particle thing. Be aware that aluminum oxidizes so the gas no matter what will come out a greyish color. Don't mistake that for it being crazy dirty.
