me and my freinds rx-7 have this problem so i hope somone can help. the gas meter will read if you fill it up but, when you get to about half tank it will stop working and read empty. i would think its a common problem. please help

 

Replace the fuel level sender in the tank.

 

My gas gauge is highly inaccurate also... My fuel light comes on when the gauge says that I have a 1/4 tank left. And when you fill it up,it only goes to 3/4 full. I have tried taking out the fuel pump assembly and cleaning everything. But still, no luck...
