Question Intake port and polish problems...help me out

Ok. Just yesterday i completed intake port and polishing on my 88 GXL NA. I have a few problems though. First, My car is idling at 1500rpm...second, once it warms up it jumps between 1500 and 1800 rpm about once ever 1-2 seconds...it almost sounds like a lopeing big block or something. Im not sure if it is supposed to do this, if it isnt what could be wrong? I was thinking that maybe i fouled my spark plugs from all of the carb cleaner i used when cleaning out my ports in the rotor housing, so im changing those tomorrow...if thats not it then someone please help me out here.

possibly you fouled your o2 sensor also? Chemicals can do that. Also, did you make sure that all your vac lines and such were connected ok? May have a vac leak.

TPS is off and causing the bouncing. THe high idle is probably a small vac leak somewhere. Did you use new gaskets?

Don't even screw with the TPS, if you've got a vac leak, fix it first, then adjust the TPS afterwards.

ok. does anyone have a vacuum diagram that i can use for a reference. (i think all of those are on though)...second, if it is my tps that needs adjusting (tps is the green plug by the mass air flow sensor, correct?) how do i adjust that? and how do i know what to adjust it too...ive never messed with it before.

No i didnt use new gaskets...in one place i used the one that was on it and the others i used gasket sealant.

About fixxing a vacuum leak. Other than looking for lines that are disconnected, how can i find a leak?

While the engine is idling spray carb cleaner on hoses and such and when the engine bogs you have found a leak.

it'll either rev up and smooth out(likely) or bog (tends to do this with starting fluid)
