Intake manifold gasket templates

Searched and couldn't find what i wanted. Surprised i didn't see it archived....hint hint

I bought a roll of gasket paper because OEM gasket prices are a rip off(at least the lower manifold to engine gasket is ovepriced)

I remember seeing a thread that had all the gaskets scanned in and at actual size but can't find it now.

Can someone post up the S4 lower intake manifold gasket(mates to engine)

And also the upper intake manifold gasket? Or even the thread that had all of them at actual size?

I know the other ways of tracing gaskets but my engine isn't apart yet and would like to make the gaskets in the mean time.

Please dont crap in my thread. Help or GTFO. THANKS - Nick

Mazdatrix has the gasket for $40. I don't see how that is a ripoff seeing as it will last 10 years or more. I don't ever remember seeing that thread you're talking about though. It would probably be easier to wait until you get the manifold off.

GREAT! So people only like to post in the FC section to crap on others?....Yea sounds about right.

Well im not paying $40+ for a stupid LIM gasket. I bought a roll of paper gasket for $5, sure its not OEM but it will do the job.

If no one can scan actual size of LIM and UIM gaskets then i will have have to wait till i have my manifolds removed. Whatevs

unfortunately, it's not as simple as scan and upload,
the photo is going to be resized/distorted via your computer/upload process
it's not exactly a "print and trace" deal.

to make it that way..
someone proficient in a Cad program would have to spend an hour measuring the gasket
draw it out in the program
upload it for you

that being said
it takes me 30 minutes to take off my throttle body, uim, lim. Including draining the coolant.
what's stopping you from using the manifolds and making these gaskets the easy way?

Sorry 1SWEET7 i didnt see your post. Sure that gasket can last 10 years but who knows if its going to rip the next time i remove my manifold.

MMoore4545, i see what you mean, didn't really think about the detail involved.

No its $5 for the gasket that goes between the upper and lower manifold. That is a fine deal but its $40 for the gasket that mates the lower intake manifold to the engine block. F-THAT!

then you're ordering the steel type of gasket, they still make them in paper and you didn't specify. in fact i don't even think they make them in steel for the series 4, but they do for the series 5. i have a stack of S4 LIM to block gaskets collecting dust.

edit: i see what you mean since both mazdatrix and atkins don't list them but believe me i'm sure both of them stock the generic paper gaskets. the series 4 generic rebuild gasket kit(the kit contains OEM inner seals) contains a paper S4 LIM n/a to block gasket which most of us pitch aside.

Im looking for the paper gasket. They dont make steel lower intake to engine type of gasket for S4 n/a that i ever knew of.

So your saying you have plenty S4 n/a intake manifold to engine paper gaskets laying around? Are they BRAND NEW? Shoot me a PM price shipped to 11778? - Nick

$5 bucks is a great price for a LIM gasket.
I recently bought one, so save my engine catching fire, I don't think I'll need one for a minute.

Nick,
Putting a film silicone on both sides of the gasket ensures a normally clean removal. Once you get one made, cut a few out. It'll save some headache in the event of a replacement. Some things seem way less complex than they are, it's usually in the details. Accurate reproduction is a pita sometimes.
Good Luck!

Will do with the silicone. Never done that before, i just use bare gasket with no kind of sealer. Ive cut/traced gaskets before but never made extra's. I might was well make more this time.

it's a prudent idea, especially if you've got a bunch of material.
and just a little silicone, it's 100% fine to use dry gaskets
but I've been putting just a little bit of it on there
and I've yet to have a problem
my Fc, E30, or my E21

both the one on mazdatrix and atkins specify that the $30 S4 LIM to block gaskets they are selling are steel.

in fact they just phased out the old S4 LIM gasket on both sites and use the new steel one for both S4/5, the only difference is the EGR port under the middle of the primary ports is non functional on the S4 and isn't there on the gasket. the only real reason i can think that they did this is for $, it could be that mazda also discontinued it and only makes the one style gasket now, although there is aftermarket vendors as well..

i will admit though that the steel gaskets are nice, since they are basically permanently reusable. just clean them off and spray them with copper gasket spray sealer and slap them back on. the FD's basically all are steel gaskets and all the accessory gaskets are reusable.

wow. I've never seen the s4/s5 lim to block gasket in steel. I've pulled my manifold 3 times on my s5 and always had a paper gasket to put on there. I knew about the steel exhaust gaskets tho.

If you are too lazy to make your own templates then you are just like most of us hence why the roll of gasket is only 5usd. No one uses that, everyone else would rather pay the 40usd and get the use out of those.

Sure it's only 5usd but you can't find the templates and its not going to last as long as the oem gaskets. Stop trying to save 35usd and just buy the gasket set or quit complaining when no one wants to do the work for you.

I personally think that paying for a factory gasket that you'll never have to worry about again is far cheaper and easier in the long run than spending $5 on gasket material, figuring out it's shape, cutting that shape out to the best of your ability, and then installing it to find that it doesn't seal well, which makes you try it over and over again until after sucking a chunk of gasket sealer into the engine you finally concede. Then after 3 weeks of swearing and taking the manifold off and reinstalling it a half dozen times you go ahead and just buy a factory one anyways. That's just me though.

Atkins sells that gasket on ebay for $35 with free shipping and Rotary Resurrection has it on ebay for $25 with free shipping so you are really only trying to save $20. What is that 1/2 of a tank of gas?

Hmm great way to contradict yourself. You say everyone's lazy and buys the $5 roll then say no one uses that? Well whatever NOT trying to start anything, hate thread crapin.

Im not lazy. But i am alittle cheap. (got laid off work 2 weeks ago) If you read my first post you will see i dont have my manifolds apart yet so i was trying to get a template in the mean time. But its all good now, Karack is shipping me a real gasket today. I will use that gasket but make extra with my gasket roll first.

P.S My first post said HELP or GTFO
