intake manifold gasket and hose questions

so i removed the intake manifold to clean the fuel injectors
do i have to replace the gasket (seems like a good idea) when i reinstall the manifold?
also anyone have the hose diagram?
I looked up FSM and Haynes and they weren't much help.
I really should've marked em before i disconnect them

You don't have to replace the gasket. Is it ripped or anything? How old is it? You can always just put a bit of RTV on there.

I would replace the gasket if it came apart anywhere.

I had no choice when I did mine the other day. It may have been factory I don't know, but it took me hours to scrape off. There were chunks all over on both mating surfaces and it was really glued down. I won't ever be doing that again as I used a nice new factory gasket and hylomar.

I don't know what to say about the hose routing. Use the memory in the hose where you can. Then it's up to gleening what you can from the diag.s in the FSM and common sense. I still can't figure out what one of the nipples on the back of my UIM goes to.

RTV = Use the search function...

However, I'll be nice. RTV stands more Room Tempature Vulcanizing (or something like that). It's a material that, when applied, creates a gasket. You can find it at Autozone or Advance.

If you can't do it with the FSM and Hayne's manual vacuum diagrams, you're in trouble. Regardless, just do a search for engine bay pictures, other threads about vacuum lines, etc.

its silicone get it at an auto parts store.

boost sensor goes to nipple facing pass fender, cc line goes to nipple pointing straight up. on the back of the tb/dynamic chamber, the outside hard line goes to the top nipple., and if you didnt mark the 3 on the front, youre probably screwed.

got pdf? go to iluvmyrx7.com for the fsm

1 = always a good idea, or you'll suffer a vac leak you'll never locate until you replace the gasket anyhow
2 = hose diagram-- you mean vac diagram? Search, its covered weekly.
3 = FSM and haynes not much help...? What area specifics?
4 = meh... yeah you should have

Consider this a learning experience: Learn to get the most of out the FSM. When the drawings fail you, read the haynes and get totaly confused. Hanyes is good for only one thing: pictures and doing things without $1000 SSTs that no one ownes.

Mark them??? BAH!!! Just memorize the damn thing. The FSM really does help if you just study the SOB for a coupld hours, you'll figure it out. Look at the ACV diagrams, the large diagram that is like a schematic to best understand it. Hell.. I busted out the coloring pencils and colored the "schematic" FSM diagram, helps...

Then since your manifold is off... you can see the metal rat's nest. Blow through one end of the hose and feel for the air coming out on another. That way you learn where what needs to get routed.

Getting the Upper Intake Manifold lines right is easy...... essentially they only fit right going to one spot. Just make sure you look at the hoses and see which one was on top for each side and the part going into the lower intake manifold.. ... we don't need no stinking diagram.
