can a third gen intake manifold fit onto a second gen?
just a thought.

also are there any aftermarket ones available?
I've been looking but no luck yet.
I saw someone on here that made his own.

SDS has a write up on how to build your own upper intake. I made one with a 63mm t-body from a 93? V-6 Acura. works fine with the SDS. I also added a sub-injector to it. My next one for the RX3 with have a 75mm t-body from a Ford.

No a 3rd gen upper will not bolt to an n/a lower. It can be made to work with a T-II lower but there is some port matching and bolt hole changes. I know this because I have all of these manifolds lying around and have tried it. You could make a 3rd gen upper fit the n/a lower with a custom made spacer a couple of inches long. The n/a lower manifolds are much shorter than the T-II and 3rd gen lowers. The 3rd gen intake runners are actually smaller in diameter than the 2nd gens which is strange but helps explain some of the lowend RPM power the 3rd gens have over the 2nd gens. Obviously turbos played a role there too. I have a completely custom manifold on my 2nd gen made from aluminumwith a 75 mm Mustang TB. I'll try to get some pictures on here soon.
