I like k&n because of their variety of filter's,rather it be stock, universal,or custom.

I have heard other filters can outflow K&N, but K&N keeps the most dirt out, therefore prolonging your engine's life.

I just have the drop in, stock replacement filter, not the cone K&N for clarity's sake.

Apex here as well. Revspeed tested out a array of filters a while back and the Apex filter ranked highest when it came to filteration ability with the K&N at a close 2nd. Difference between the two is the K&N is a wet type filter and Apex is a dry type. HKS ranked worst.

I like the K&N because they will custom make a filter for you for a reasonable price which is still cheapper than the apexi and the desing is extremely similar. I think that best bang for your dollar is K&N but i do think that the apexi does yeild an extra horse power in tests however... so is the extra $35 worth 1 possible HP?

Based on the Revspeed article the Apexi is the best in everything, even if the Apexi didn't filter as good as the K&N, I'd still buy it just based on the fact that its way easier to clean.

The blitz metal mesh filter ranked fairly low as far as filteration ability.

I had owned K&N, HKS and K&N drop in filter. I Liked the K&N cone the most out of it because it didnt get that diry compared to the HKS.

The blitz one flows great, but it doesn't filter vrey well. I went with a K&N because you can get them in preatty much any shape/size, and they are cheap conpaird to the Japanese brands. I have a street car, not a race car. Therefore i would not pick the best filter based only on HP.

A'PEXi or K&N. None of the foam filter things. Those things feel like the thing my girl uses to take a shower.

Bonez here. But K&N's patent ran out, so now others can make air filters with the same cotton filter media technology. So please guys don't think that K&N are the ONLY ones that can make a cotton type filter. there are more flowing filters on the market, but the filtering capacity sucks. For every day use you can't go wrong with a cotton media. My schools engineering dept is doing research on this. It's direct application is to the Piston reciprocating aircraft engine.
