Mine did this all the time. I never figured out why, but sometimes if I'd crank it back real hard and put it back down all the way it would fix it.

the light doubles as a reservoir low warning.

do your self a favor and fill it up since its probably leaking.

while your at it, find the leak

wow, it doubles as a resivoir low warning??

Never knew that, well it could be a bad ground or something because my coolant level light would come on sometimes and just stay on for like 20 mins straight while i'm driving and it was so god dam loud. When i finally got my car to cool down and i checked the coolant and **** the damn radiator was full!!! So i just grounded the wire better =D

No it couldn't, since the CPU has nothing to do with this.

really? i had the same problem with my "BELTS" light and i remember someone advising that it was bad solder joints in the cpu. i never checked the problem and the light remains on when the ignition is off. i will trust your advice and retract my previous statement.

The BELTS light is controlled by the CPU, the BRAKE light is not.

very true. i have the original owners manual for my 88 10AE and the pages are literally falling out. the thing is in excellent shape otherwise. just kind of frustrating to read when a section of pages goes flying to the floor. the previous owner must have cut the 10AE logos out of the floor mats, as i found them stuffed in the grey owners manual folder.

When you have the ebrake up does the light get brighter? then your low on brake fluid.

No, it's exactly what has already been said: low brake fluid.

Bad guesses are unhelpful...
