Exclamation Installing our temp guage(s)...

Ok guys finally we got our Nordskog Performance Air meter Guages that we will use to check out the air temp differences between intake setups. We are going to do four types of tests for now:

Stock Box with snorkel and a standard filter.
Cone filter alone.
Confilter with a heat shield.
AZ Tech Rotary CAI with a cheap filter.(Haven't taken delivery on our K&N filters yet )

I will Probably do Three to Five runs with each setup. We will make a table and graph to plot the data on and see what kind of gains and how consistand the gains are and how long it takes to heat soak the intake on a HOT day. Unfortunately at the moment we are having very cool and wet weather so we won't e able to test well for some time. However we are getting in some great reliability testing in WET and HUMID conditions. So far it is holding up nicely.

I am just having some trouble with the wiring of the guage itself. Ground is simple. Power I am not too sure about yet but I was told by a friend to just prob around the radio harness for a power source and hook into that but is there any way to easily tell which s the likely wire? Also He gave me a pointer about the dimmer wire which dims the guage by 50% when it is supplied with 12V. James mentioned that the cigarrett lighter has one of these type of wires on it so I was thinking i could just solder into that one. One last concern, Would it be better to extend the wires by soldering on some more wire to it to make the sender reach teh guage? use spade connectors? ???

We don't have any dyno's here. If we did them MAYBE but I don't have any info or hook up with a dyno site anywhere near us.

Measuring air intake temps tells only half the story. You need to do acceleration runs too. 0-60mph on a flat piece of road, average of six runs (three in each direction) for each set-up.

Well that is the plan But not 0-60 I will goa bit higher Probably -80 dunno yet. Anyways I have the guage installed already. I will be making another thread about the initial thoughts about the nordskog guage and sensor setup.
