installed 720 seccondaries: what to expect?

I guess I'll start with my mods: 88 TII with Racing Beat turbo-back, K&N cone filter, removed emissions, street port, walbro 255, SAFC2, and i believe thats about it for the performance/fuel stuff.

Ok so I just finished installing my 720cc seccondaries and the resistors (radio shack ones wired in by the ECU). The SAFC2 is on the stock settings, and I do not have a wideband. So i started it up, let it warm up and check for fuel leaks, then took it out for a drive. I had expected to see a noticeable drop in power when the seccondaries kicked in, but the power is very smooth all the way up (that is until the 6500 rpm hesitation, which i hoped some more fuel might fix), and it still pulls hard.

So my question is, do you guys think they are working properly? I expected to lose power and maybe see some flames or something, to let me know im running super rich.

Oh and I do plan to get to a dyno to tune this week.

Assuming that you used resistors due to having the incorrect imp. injectors for your year vehicle?

Correct. I bought low impedence injectors and the 88 needs high impedence.

hesitation could be ignition related. Do you have fresh plugs and wires?

Not wires, but i have changed plugs since i noticed the hesitation and it didnt help. What is a good brand of wires for the car? Bosch? Does NGK make wires? What do you guys recommend?

Did you buy Kevin Landers TII? If so, it looks good.

Either way, that's what you should expect... I installed very similar mods on my old TII and the power-band remained smooth, even with the extra fuel. 720's will make the car run richer (and likely safer, in your position). But they won't run rich enough to make the car buck or flood-out during WOT pulls...

You really need to either buy and install a wideband 02 setup, or borrow one from a local forum-member, so that you can tune that SAFC. Maybe offer someone $50 for a couple hours of their time and their wideband?

Also, I assume you have a ported WG and an FCD? If not, both of these mods are VERY important with the current mods you have.

No I did not. Does that make it not look good anymore? :p I've had it for about 2.5 years now, but Landers did do a lot of work on it.

Yeah, I would really like to buy a wideband, I have my eye on the Innovate LC-1, I just need to get the funds first, and I figured if I could only afford one or the other at the moment, I would go ahead and do the injectors since i was afraid I was running lean.
I also did try to get people to let me borrow a wideband, and I did even offer money for it, but no go.

And yes the wastegate is ported and I have an FCD.

Thank you for the input.
