It doesn't matter, primaries and secondaries are the same size (460cc). Did you confirm what impedence your current injectors are?

Check the resistance of the injector coil by putting a meter on OHMs and the meter leads on the tow pins of the injector.

IF you read 2-3 ohms, then you have a slight problem because the injectors for your 88 are of a higher resistance. More on the order of 12-13 ohms for a 88.

Stock injectors are the same for primary or secondary placement.

And if they were different, the plugs on the injectors would be different colors - as long as they're the same color you can put them wherever you want them, provided the resistance is correct.

okay ill check the resistance tonday when i take all that intake stuff off to get to the secondaries, if its different what can i do , just look for secondaries from a 88 and throw the 87 away?

Or see if someone will trade you. Or give them to someone who needs them for the cost of shipping, rather than throwing them away. Actually, I think there's a way to use the low impedence injectors with a high impedence computer, but not vice versa (without substantial engineering, anyway)

correct me if I'm wrong here......

But wouldn't his 88 (if its a high impedance car) have different plugs on the injectors altogether? Or was it strictly the S5's that had round style plugs?

Just check them first. Set your multi meter to ohms and probe the injector.

IIRC:
around 2-4 is low

around 10-12 is high

Injectors with different resistances have slightly different plugs so you don't install the wrong ones. If they're from an early-87 they won't fit, if they're from a late-87 they will. Check they plug in before you install them.

According to the post immediately before yours - the plug won't fit.

But before you go nuts, pop the plug off the ones already on your car and see what the impedence of THOSE is - the same way.

The rails are bolted down, so you take out the two bolts and you should get enough clearance to change your injectors - but I wouldn't worry about that just yet.

The plug has a little metal clip on it - it should be pretty obvious. Be careful as they enjoy breaking. Or you can just backprobe the plug (stick the little pointy bits on your ohmmeter into the plug where the wires are. With the car off you shouldn't have to worry about reading backwards through the ecu or anything.

If you use low impeadnace injectors without resistors inline you'll fry the ECU's injector drivers.
