Injectors?

I'm pretty sure my injectors are messed up. If I'm going to have to replace them might as well upgrade What would be a good combo of injectors? I've heard of 1600cc secondaries but what for the primary. Also, I am thinking of getting a fuel management computer? should I go Apex or HKS? Thanks, Chris

I've got a '87 Turbo II with mildstreet porting. So I think larger injectors would be a good thing. I understand that a fuel computer is need to control the larger injectors but I know very little about them. Right now I'm doing research on the Apex AFC-R
and the HKS AFC, but just recently I found an Haltec fuel computer. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

On a side, I have a friend with a 3rd gen that is going to upgrade his secondarys. He said I could have his old ones. I know these are side feed. Can I just get a 3rd gen fuel rail and run these or are they high ohms?

Chris

GSL-SE injectors are 680cc, not 720cc.
They are a common upgrade for the secondaries. If you are on a stock ECU, use the stock 550cc's for your primaries.
What other mods have you done?

You can get an A'PEXi S-AFC and install larger injectors in the secondaries. The AFC allows you to down tune the larger injectors so that you don't run rich under idle and lower rpm's. I wouldn't go larger than 680's or 720's with your mods, as I don't think you would need them. What boost levels are you running? Do you have a FCD?

7 psi in 1,2,3 then in 4 & 5 I hit fuel cut. It will reach about 8 1/2-9 psi before it will drop back down to 5 and go up again. I've held off getting a FCD because most of the new fuel computers have one built in. I believe the injectors I have now are messed up. At idel my car plums smoke from the exhust which you can tell is gas. I've adjusted the rich/lean setting and idel setting with no luck. even if i crank the idel mix screw all the way to lean gas still keeps smoking. I also stumbles under accel. but only when the engine is warm. I've changed 02 sensors but that didn't seem to help. basicly I'm just trying to make my car stop smoking and useing all my gas.

And which fuel controllers have a FCD function? Are we talking piggy-back or stand-alone? Well, obvously a Haltech or similar unit wont have fuel cut, but something like an S-AFC?! That would be great.

man, who dug that post up? Its from Sept 28th last year!

Sense then I've gotten a S-AFC, DIY FCD, and 680cc primarys. I'm getting ready to go Haltech for my 60-1, with 1600cc secondarys and keeping the 680cc primarys. Just a little update for you guys

WOW! What a coincidence about this post not only being older than hell, but I'm just doing a search on fuel injectors and I find that it was really recent that Angel found this! Funny...
Anyways. Ridge Tech asked a question earlier about 3rd gen secondaries.. yes, they are side feed, but would they work as top feed for my secondaries for my 88 TII. I'll be running a AFC.

No they wont. The feed is where the fuel comes from. So unless your fuel rail is angled, you need to make other arrangements.
