injector impedance mess

Hi.

Since I have troubles with my engine swap I measured the impedance of my injectors. And they seem to be low impedance - although I expected high impedance on the 91 TII car. The injectors have the original oval plug and fit to the original harness. So I dont know if they are aftermarket injectors and where exchanged from the previous owner.
What I remarked is that they dont have a black coating like all the other pre 88 injectors I saw. So maybe anybody can tell me or has a picture of how the original 91 high imp injectors look like - especially black coating or not?

thanks,

Harry

S5 Injectors are Grey coated. What part number is on the side of the injectors and what ohm reading did you get?

Mine are definitly not gray coated - they are really shiny and I read about 2-3 Ohms. Where on the ECU do I have to measure to see if it gets the correct high impedance and do I have to measure a pin against mass?

Ok. I measured the pins at the ECU and they all read about 30 Ohms. So I guess thats ok and I dont have to do anything - right?!

Your going to have to do it another way. Measure from the ECU plug/socket, for a given injector to the Main Relay. It would be the four socket plug on the Main Relay. The Black/Yellow wire.

That's part guess. I don't have a series five schematic, but I bet the series five and four both feed the injectors from the Black/Yellow wire on the Main Relay plug.

It should be 10-12 ohms for high resistance injectors and 2 to 2.2 ohms for low resistance injectors.
