Question Info On A Bac Valve......

I Just Need To Know Is It Possible For A Bac Valve To Leak Coolant Down Into The Engine??? I See A Coolant Pipe Above The Bac But Is That A Closed Pipe Or Does That Run Down Into The Bac Assembly??? I Have A 91n/a....any Ifo On This Anyone?

The coolant runs through a separate casting attached to the BAC.
There is no coolant passage into the BAC.

that coolant hose has nothing to do with the BAC valve

No worries - Now if we could just figure out why Mazda did that.
Maybe just to keep the hose from flopping around?
Maybe to cool a hard working BAC in a summer traffic jam?

Actually the opposite, the coolant passage is there to warm a frozen BAC in the winter.

This is one of those old wives tales Aaron mentioned. If the BAC valve is so cold it can freeze, then the engine is obviously not running, in which case the coolant will be just as cold as the BAC valve.

I can see condensation icing being a factor under some conditions in an NA, but not a turbo.
The aircraft guys can tell all about that.
