Testing Oil Pressure Sensor and Guage
I have not had any oil pressure readings since I got the car, the guage just sits at 0 and never moves. I have a feeling it's the guage in the cluster because I have reason to believe the cluster has been tamperd with by past owners. I checked the sensor and it is hooked up and I also cleaned the contacts..
Is there any way I can test the guage it's self by applying some volatge to it at the sensor contacts and seeing if it moves? if it works then I'll know it's the sensor that is not working.
ps. I searched and dident find anything usefull

I'd imagine that if you connected an ohm meter between the oil pressure sending unit on the engine and a ground, you'd get one reading with the engine running, and another with it off. If not, I'd change the sending unit.

The free online factory service manual gives you a step by step method for checking the accuracy of the oil pressure sensor and gauge. In short it tells you to attach a resistor of a given value to the senders wire, then touching that resistors other end to the block/ground. The needle should rise to the value given in the factory service manual.
The senders attaching wire should have voltage on it. IF you touch it to ground, the meters needle should peg out. Not a good thing to do to the gauge.

Remove the wire from the sender and temporarily ground it. Turn the ignition on and the gauge should go straight to the top (don't do this for long). If it does, the wire and gauge are okay and the you need a new sender.
