Indications an engine is about to blow.
Is their any indications or warning that are giving to you if your rotatry engine is about to blow up or die on you? If so, what are they?

I heard they go from running just ok/poor to all of a sudden running really great for a little while then they blow... just a rumor though, never had one go out on me so I dunno.

Sudden hard starting, smoke, lack of power, rough idle, flooding. You can always do a compression test to get a general idea about the condition of your engine, but it won't give you a real indication of when the engine will pop.

8 out of 10 X's they get low compression before they let go. this ofcourse doesn't count if you detonate the crap out of it, while making a 10 Sec pass.

...94% correct.
Poor power, low compression, excessive oil/coolant consumption, poor economy, all kinds of things can lead you to believe the engine is about to go. Maybe you can go into a little more detail with what you feel she's doing oddly?

There's an easy way to tell. Walk to the back of your car, and look to the right and left of the third brake light. If it says "Mazda" on the right and "RX-7" on the left, it could go at any time.

mine has just recently started flooding really badly. It never did it before and I'm not sure if i should be worried about the motor dying or if i can just attribute it to colder weather or something like that.
