Increase Timing
Increase Timing
Okay, I have an S4 T2 on which I want to increase my timing. I want to get the timing to utilize 93 octance rating.
Okay, here's the thing, I'm almost a complete newb, so I need to know how to go about doing this and any other things I need to do for this, thanks in advance.

Dont worry people are never seem to be willing to help out although they were all at this point at some time and asked for help also. I'm not sure about what you wanna do sorry. I never messed with my timing for this reason.
When I was much younger, we used to set the timing on our piston bangers to get the highest vacuum and then put whatever octane in them to keep away the knocks.....advancing the timing in a rotary is probably not a good idea.
speakign of which what should stock timing be on a 86' 13B f/i n/t 5spd? and how can u adjust (by turning the cas)?
I would say dont do it u dont need the premium gas so why spend the money if u have a turbo I would do other things to get better hp's thne timing on n/a cars (especially piston motors) timing is a big key and advancing it will help out

Don't touch your timing. The only way to advance timing is to move the whole CAS, which moves the entire timing curve. Unless you really know what you are doing (and have an EGT gauge and know how to read it) then leave the timing alone on TIIs.
Once you have experience, you can adjust timing properly with a standalone.

Thanks for the help.
Tuning will depend on who does the tuning. Figure $450.
