impressive n/a e.t.
i took my car to the track a few weeks ago....it only has an intake, custom race pipe, and a dynomax cat back and i turned what i think is a pretty impressive time for and 86 base model......i ran a 15.7 @ 90mph with a .517 r.t.
is that good for what i have done??? because it sure surprised the **** out of me
well....hoping to go faster because the n/a will be no more thanks to a custom to3 turbo setup.....

Superpimp, that's awesome man, good driving as well .
at 7k miles, your motor is just beginning to really reach its peak as far as compression is concerned. When you first build a motor, compression may actually be a bit low because the new apex seals are not seated completely against the rotorhousing. after 3k miles or so, the compression is a good 20-30% higher than when it was new.
Anyway, congrats, keep it up dude

16.2 sec STOCK.
good run.
IF you get some headers to go w/that racepipe and catback, you will see the same times as a 87-88 TII .

My near stock 88GTU saw a 15.9 with TERIBLE driving. Im not a drag racer by far, so i think it would have seen a mid 15 easy. A freind of mine ran a 14.6 out of the car i currently own, i havent gotten a chance to take it to the track, but its an 86 Base. Many owners on the forum see mid-low 14 times out of their N/A cars.

I don't know if I buy the 14 second n/a. It has gotta be street ported full exhaust (headers back) intake, fuel control, maybe ignition, to run 14's, Probably more than that, I would like to see an n/a run 14's and I own an n/a.

Actually, it's quite easy to get a '86 base down to like 2400-2500 lbs. BPU mods and a well tuned engine w/good driver may very well see 14's.
