important vacuum lines?

On a 13B N/A what are the important vacuum lines that you have to use to run the car? Mine is still not idling it will run fine if you hit the gas but it will die at idle imediatly.

This isn't the answer you asked for but what you need to do is jumper the initial set coupler and set the idle and then make sure that the bac is functioning by taking the plug off and seeing if the idle drops a bit. Also need to set the timing first using a timing light and adjust the tps. There is a free manual on line at http:www.iluvmyrx7.com or www.fc3s.org Prior to doing that you might see if you have some air leaks around the intake duct clamps or if any vac hose are off. On the front of the engine there are three vac hose. The only one pulling a vac FROM the dymanic chamber is the bottom one and it should be headed to the left of the engine. It supplies the vac for the solenoids. The top two are receiving fresh filtered air FROM the throttle body from a passage in front of the throttle plates. One the back of the engine are two vac hose. Make sure they are on. They make they're way to the purge valve on the left side of the engine.

Proper location of vac hoses on the Rt.

Hailers: could you tell me the proper connection of the 2 Vac hoses on the top of the ACV that connect to the 2 metal tubes on the rear of the engine? Lt. side as your looking at the engine bay. Gary

The two metal tubes on the rear of the engine are one above the other on my car. The top metal tube goes to the fwd nipple above the acv and the bottom metal tube goes to the rear nipple above the acv. I"ll double check when I get home. The rear nipple should originate at the BLUE solenoid valve on the left side of the engine. The fwd nipple should originate at the GREY solenoid valve on the left side of the engine. At idle with a warm engine you should have vacuum at the hose going to the rear nipple. If you don't there is some small maledy with you car. Can be fixed pretty easy if that is the case.

Thanks Hailers, I just wanted to verify I just replace my engine and didn't want this little detail to getby. I'll let you know if I had it right or not. There's really not a good pic in the Mazda Manual for this. Gary
