I'm sure I'll get flamed thread....
Okay..... I got rid of the cat's..... 2 1/4 in pipe back to a free flowing muffler..... the cat check valve thing...... I shouldn't have welded it shut right? also, it's a total flamer thrower.... more so then I'd think...... hard core backfiring, I know on reciprication engines, this leads to burnt valves.... how does the rotary hold up...

Mine only shoots at high rpm. When my thermosensor was disconnected it actually would breath fire. When it idled flames pulsed out the exhaust. IT was pretty rad but running rich means poor performance.

Well your problem is you're in montana. The lack of civilization is killing your car. Just kidding. IT only sucks moderatly. I stayed in billings for a month and I thought Utah was lame. As far as flamage goes its expected. I had my car tuned properly and the flames turned into a firecracker like flash at 7500rpm. But I'm running straight 2.5" exhaust (straight piped all the way) with a single high flow muffler.

Well, billings is in the "I wish I had Mountain Section" I live in the mountains.... and I'm running 2 1/4 in from the manifold back to a high flow, w/ and w/o a siliencer, depending on my mood.... it just sees like it may be out o' tune a little.... but I don't have the tools to properly work on her..... have to start somewhere though..... I'd idealy like to be in the 200-210 hp range..... any other idears?
