I'm new to you and Turbo II
I just got my first RX Turbo! Always loved its styling, but don't know much about it. This baby is black w/grey interior. It has been sitting for several years in a nearby yard. Flat tires, dead battery ,old gas, and fouled plugs. Found a few dents and dings once all the leaves and dirt washed off. Plugs, fresh juice and high voltage brought her back to life. One problem immediately apparent is boost guage flat lined below 5000rpm. This phoenix is sporting only 89m on odometer, and seems to be hitting on all sides of both rotors. My knowledge and experience with these creatures is very limited. My goal is to return her to her former glory. Advice and direction will be much appreciated. Asking for a Mazda guru to let me be their protege (pun intended) as I persue her reserrection. What should I be checking and looking for, what are the common characteristics and headaches that my new love will share with me?

So it is running? Running good? Need more clear detail on what the problems are with the car, and what stage of drivability it is currently in.
Congrats on the purchase. You will learn to love it.

Thanks a million Ted! And to 13bpower- she is running, has stable but high idle, copious smoke, coolant leaks in several places, probably not road-worthy. Wouldn't trust braking system. Did pull compression test removing check valve from tester- she's got 80 psi peaks three times on each rotor from trailing holes. Found minor curb damage under pass. front bumper pushing liner out and brake cooling duct out of line. Driver's door top corner flexed out from attempted forced entry and rear hood corner on driver's side out of alignment- suspect hinge problem. Starting to take inventory of obvious necessary repairs mechanically first, then will consider cosmetics. Still undecided as to persuing performance mods or remaining stock. You guys will be my sounding boards and mentors. Any and all imput is appreciated. I am also noting everyone uses nicknames- I'm JohnnyO

It sounds like the one I found 4 months ago.
It took me $1500 in parts & 80 hours of work to get it road worthy.
Work on getting it back to stock shape before starting mods or you may end up chasing your tail.
The stock turbo power is pretty strong.
I had to learn to drive all over again.
I took it to the strip after 1 month 15.1sec@91MPH
