You could always get the RB downpipe/presilencer combo for $300. According to Racing Beat, that gets similar power gains on cars with stock or lightly modded induction. Also, the pacesetter headers might not need an extra attatchment to work. I don't know anything about them, so Im not sure. Another thing to look for is whether it reliably opens the aux ports. A lot of aftermarket setups dont allow them to operate with an open exhaust.

yeh i don't think that i'm going to get it right now. so how much hp gains are seen from the racing beat headers and the presilencer combo.
And i'm still confused about this whole 5th and 6th port thing, can someone tell me more about what you guys keep saying about that what makes them open
When i first bought this car, the guy had the cats howled out. and the air pump was not on. And it was not running right so i had another engine for it, and swap it. when i went to find the problem i fond that the 5th and 6th ports were all carboned up. is that the result of not putting the exhuast in propoly. this whole 5th and 6th ports thing is just comfusing me, why does it carbon up like that..

I've been using my MindTrain header and Bonez cat for a few months now and it's AWESOME! I really can't recommend this setup enough. The 1/8" header tubes cut most of the ringing you usually get with headers and I think the Bonez cat is probably more effective that a presilencer for cutting the "Chainsaw" bark out of the exhaust note. My power is greatly increased, my noise levels are reasonable and my nose says that my emissions should be within legal levels.

You dont really have to have a presilencer if you do a mid pipe... Only problem with that is you would have to buy the flanges and 3" piping and get it welded at a local shop or something... Great for a straight flow through if you looking for power. But its all up to you.

I put the RB Header and pre-silencer on my sons 89NA about 2 months ago and didn't remove the aux. ports to put the header on. I just took the factory exhaust manifold off( cats long gone), unbolted the remainder of the exhaust and put the header and pre-silencer on per the instructions. I thought it was a pretty simple job and the fit was perfect. Why would you have to take the aux. ports out to install the header ?

How loud is it? And what are you using for cat-backs? Single, dual, strait-though muffler, stock? I've got the DP/presilencer from racing beat, and I love it, but I think Im gonna get the header once I get enough money and get all the other stuff I need. Just wondering if its rediculously loud.

I havent had my 5th/6th port acutators in awhile, but Im pretty sure you dont need to remove them to unbolt the exhaust manifold. Also the Pacesetter will bolt right up to the stock exhaust, but the first cat needs to be removed.
